My Story

I used to work in the hospitality industry, traveling the world on cruise ships (yes, that was my work). What does that have to do with yarn? Nothing! I didn’t have any knowledge of yarn or macramé, and it seemed something my grandma (who, unfortunately, I never met) would do. But I always loved doing things with my hands: whether it be knitting, crocheting, or sewing. Was I good at it? I don’t think so, but it always brought calmness and a sense of accomplishment once another project was finished. Whenever I was working with fibers, my mind relaxed and I could just enjoy being in that moment.

Life brought me to Italy in 2020 where we moved with my husband and my two small children from Miami, Florida. It was during the summer of 2021 that I took a spool of cotton with me on our summer holiday in Spain and I started playing with knots. You can track my progress on my Instagram page. I was so obsessed that I started filming short tutorials and just putting them there. And oh little did I know this would become my life!

I decided that I wanted to have a pallet of yarn and see where it would take me. So I searched for a perfect manufacturer all over the world – Spain, Turkey, China, Romania. And I found them, the gems, who allowed me to share this beautiful art with thousands of other makers. And so Macrame Spaghetti was born.

It’s not always easy to balance the family, small kids, and business. But I stuck with my gut and just kept going and still am. Macrame Spaghetti brought so much into my life – new friends, knowledge, passion, and a feeling of accomplishment.

I knew from the beginning that I not only wanted to sell yarn, but I also wanted a community, I wanted to empower other women along on their journey. Whether it be for them to find calmness when creating their next project or trying to build a new business. We are together.

If you are ever in the Monza area in Italy, send me a message and I will be happy to meet up and share new ideas.

Thank you for following me on this journey and for making Macrame Spaghetti possible.

With love,

Tatiana
